About Ex-Cell Hearing Centres in Saskatoon
We are a private hearing aid clinic with two locations in Saskatoon. Ex-Cell Hearing has been serving the Saskatoon and surrounding rural communities of Saskatchewan since 1977 with better patient care and hearing services.
WHO WE ARE (mission, values, etc)
We are proud to support the communities we serve by taking a lead role in improving the industry standard of client care to those who have hearing loss. That is why we take an active membership role in professional organizations such as the Canadian Hearing Instrument Practitioners Society (CHIPS) and Saskatchewan Hearing Instrument Practitioners Society (SHIPS).
What are our values
We are very strong in our commitment to our core values when it comes to serving our clients with hearing loss. It is part of our dedication to ensuring you get the best possible hearing care experience at Ex-Cell Hearing Centres.
Honesty and integrity are critical in our business dealings. Trust is the basis for a continued long-term relationship and we strive to avoid compromising our values.
To preserve the integrity and success of our services, we believe both parties must communicate positive and negative aspects of the hearing aid fitting and rehabilitation process. We view every exercise as a new opportunity to move towards improvement.
Dealing with hearing loss and the problems it causes in your life requires an understanding and compassionate listener. We strive to serve your individual needs and preferences so you find the right solution to help you live the lifestyle you want.
To guarantee the best standards of care, we regularly attend courses and technical training. We recognize that hearing loss is more than just a physical loss of hearing, “it is a psychological and emotional condition”. That is why we search for opportunities to develop our hands-on skills and our soft care patient rehabilitation protocol.
A successful hearing aid fitting requires that we never give up or accept failure as an outcome of the process. We are persistently committed to delivering a product and a standard of care that will guarantee that you are completely satisfied.

How we make a difference
We believe that everyone with hearing loss in our community deserves the best hearing health care. That means providing the best hearing care and services to help you fulfill your wants and needs for your hearing health.
Hearing impairment can dramatically affect your life, including feelings of isolation to depression. We realize that many people are reluctant to admit they have hearing loss — to others and themselves — and they can suffer the effects for years in silence before finally seeking help. We want to end the stigma and embarrassment that prevents people from seeking help sooner. That’s why we encourage everyone to take the first step in taking back their lives with better hearing.
To that end, we offer a number of services and programs to make a difference in the lives and well-being of our patients. Learn more about what makes Ex-Cell Hearing Centres different.

MEET OUR STAFF:
John Letts, BC-HIS Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner
I was a graduate from the Alberta College in the Hearing Instrument Practitioner program through Grant MacEwan. In October 1984 I started my career at Ex-Cell Hearing Centres Ltd. as a Hearing Instrument Practitioner.
In 1994 I obtained my Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences and have been involved in both National (CHIPS) and International (IHS) boards. I have been involved with the Canadian Hearing Instrument Practitioners Society (CHIPS) as a past chair as well as being the Canadian Governor for IHS. Serving on the boards gave me the opportunity to voice changes that were required for the industry. Throughout my years of practice I have witnessed the many advancements in the hearing industry but some things never change, and that is seeing the difference that better hearing can give people.
Melanie Gallagher, Client Care Coordinator
Hi, my name is Melanie and I have been taking care of your customer service needs and inquiries at Ex-Cell Hearing Centres Ltd. for over the past 10 years. Over the years it has been my pleasure to speak with and assist you with all your hearing questions and requests. I look forward to hearing from you and many other new clients in the future.
Fiona Gardiner, Client Care Coordinator
Ryan Douglas, Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner
I am proud to say I am born and raised in Saskatchewan.
I started my career with a hearing aid manufacturer in 1993 as a hearing aid repair technician and progressed to Production Manager. In 2006 I became Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences and began testing and fitting hearing devices.
After 15 years with my former clinic I joined the Ex-Cell Hearing Centre team in June of 2020. I am excited to continue restoring connections with the gift of sound for those with hearing difficulties.
When I am not at work most of my time is spent with my wife and two daughters at the lake or running around to their many tournaments and competitions.
Jenni Flamand, BC-HIS, Registered Hearing Instrument Practitioner
I graduated from the Hearing Aid Practitioner Program at Grant MacEwan University in 2012 and achieved Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences in 2016. I have had the pleasure of working in this industry for over 10 years.
I have served in a customer service capacity all of my working life, but it wasn’t until I began working as a Hearing Aid Practitioner that I really felt that I was making a difference. Helping people stay connected to their hobbies, friends and loved ones through better hearing and communication is a privilege I take very seriously.
I recently moved to Saskatoon with my spouse from Calgary where I was born and raised. I was nervous about moving to a new city with no family or friends, but Saskatoon reminds me of Calgary when I was growing up. I have had nothing, but positive experiences to this point and look forward to embracing Saskatoon and making my new home here.
When I’m not in clinic I enjoy spending time discovering my new city, cooking, reading, listening to music, and watching movies.
Gagandeep Kaur, Senior Client Care Coordinator
My name is Gagandeep Kaur, working as a Senior Client Care Coordinator since October 2019. I am originally from India with nursing background. I love to meet new people, and to help our clients so that they leave the office with a smile on their face. I love to study, learn new things and face new challenges. My interests include reading, music, dancing and travelling.
